Halloween Cartoon

That time of the week again. Another Cartoon Caption contest over at the cartoonist forum. Only the caption element has been relaxed somewhat. The theme was set as Halloween, with the option to add a caption if you wanted to. Getting more comfortable using the Cintiq now. I have made Windows Vista look crap in the name of performance.  Working on 100MB files with multiple layers is straining my

Robin Soderling

Robin Soderling

Robin Bo Carl Söderling (Swedish pronunciation: born 14 August 1984 in Tibro) is a professional tennis player from Sweden who is currently ranked 5 in the ATP rankings. Söderling is best known for reaching successive French Open finals in 2009 and 2010. In both tournaments, he defeated the defending champion en route to the final—Rafael Nadal in 2009 (becoming the first and, to date, only player to defeat Nadal at the French Open), and Roger Federer in 2010 (ending Federer's record streak of 23 consecutive Grand Slam semifinals). But it was Federer and Nadal who beat Söderling in the 2009 and 2010 French Open finals respectively. He is coached by former world no.2 Magnus Norman.

Cartoonist Dedication

I just got an email from a young, just-starting-out cartoonist who lives in the UK, and is having a hard time finding markets. He asks for advice. I thought I'd respond here.(Above: a cartoon of mine from the Harvard Business Review. Yes, a cat cartoon in a business mag! A refreshing change of pace from the "people in meetings" cartoons and the "boss at his/her desk" cartoons.)The great thing

Romania National Football Team

Romania National Football Team

The Romania national football team is the national football team of Romania and is controlled by the Romanian Football Federation.
Romania is one of only four national teams, the other three being Brazil, France, and Belgium, that took part in the first three World Cups.
However, after that performance, they only qualified for the 1970, 1990, 1994 and 1998 editions. Their finest hour came at the 1994 World Cup where Romania, led by playmaker Gheorghe Hagi, reached the quarterfinals by defeating South American powerhouse Argentina before losing to Sweden on a penalty shootout.
At the Euros, Romania's best performance was in 2000 when they advanced to quarterfinals from a group with Germany, Portugal and England before falling to eventual runners-up Italy.
Romania also played at Euro 1984, Euro 1996, Euro 2000 and Euro 2008.

Leo Cullum, a gag cartoonist for The New Yorker, has died at the age of 68. The cause was cancer.Although I never met Mr. Cullum, I always admired his grand cartoons. He was one of the most consistently funny cartoonists I'd read.I had no idea that he had been battling cancer and this comes as a shock.NY Times obit here.

Northern Ireland National Football Team

Northern Ireland National Football Team

The Northern Ireland national football team represents Northern Ireland in international football. Before 1921, all of Ireland was represented by a single side, the Ireland national football team, organised by the Irish Football Association (IFA). In 1921, the jurisdiction of the IFA was reduced to Northern Ireland, following the secession of clubs in the soon-to-be Irish Free State, although its team purported to remain the national team for all of Ireland until 1950, and to use the name Ireland until the mid-1970s. The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) organises the separate Republic of Ireland national football team.
